SHELAJIT

Like the medicinally rich black tar which they derived their name, shelajit (Nikaya Tang) represents the primal embodiment of the deep, mysterious, void of creation. As a life long dancer, they create music to inspire potent dance floor journeys.

Shelajit's sound is an array of earthy bass, deep dubstep, downtempo, and half-time wit organic textures, dreamy soundscapes, and layered percussion. They feel most inspired when they collaborate with other artists and values the potency of unified self-expression.

As an offering to their Chinese ancestors, they weave live guzheng (traditional Chinese Harp) into their compositions and performances. Often times they are accompanied on stage with other instrumentalists and dancers domed in original costumes and ritual elements.

On a deeper level, this project aims to unify creative individuals, honor our origins, and permission listeners to feel.

KEN SHOMBALA

Ken discovered during business school in 97’ that his true talent lay elsewhere. This realization led him to training with advanced yogis, Ayurvedic masters and traveling the world practicing both internal and external healing arts. By 25, he stepped in to substitute a class at an elite healing retreat in LA, and within a year, he became the manager of healing arts and classes at The Ashram in Malibu, serving a clientele that included Cindy Crawford and Oprah. While teaching at this high level for five years, Ken earned a master's in psychology, pursued half of a PhD, and continued his training with Kabbalah mystics, Korean samurai, and advanced alchemists.

Continuing his healing journey as a high school teacher in Maui, entrepreneur, one-on-one coach, and alchemist for the past 20 years, Ken's path has led to this moment with you. Matt Xian is a musician, podcaster, creative director, and founder of TIMEWHEEL, a record label and creative collective based in Austin, Texas. Xian has over a decade of experience in art and branding direction for large companies, organizations and artists.

Matt is also a practitioner and teacher of Yoga and Meditation, and has dedicated over a decade of his life to studying these practices. Matt’s passion for these systems began as a personal journey towards healing and self-discovery. Over time, he found that the practices not only helped him connect with his inner self but also allowed him to access his creative potential.

Studied in many genres of electronic music since the late 90’s, Sharu’s has a seasoned ear for blending a dynamic journey unifying any dance floor. He is among the most sought-after DJs in the conscious dance movement playing events world-wide, including Australia, Mexico, Costa Rica, Canada, and all over the US in Hawaii, East and West coast and in between.

Sharu has a deep understanding of how music and dance can be an analogy for the merging of the individual soul with the infinite. He knows that music is not just heard by the ears but experienced by the entire body. As a Vedic Astrologer, timing is at the crux of his methodology. His sensitivity to the moment informs the choice of music he plays to ignite any dance floor.
